Shifting Perspectives is an Anti-Racism Education Program that takes a unique approach to anti-racism training, which has shown to be more effective than traditional diversity training.
Diversity, equity and inclusion are topics that have evolved over the decades and have become even more popular in recent years.
More businesses, organizations and individuals are realizing that, to become conversant on issues of implicit bias, systemic racism and discrimination across gender, age and race, it requires more than reading a book or checking off boxes of compliance.
We provide effective, practical and supportive solutions that make a difference by learning through conversation, education and support to help shift mindsets regarding anti-racist attitudes.
Christina Lord, Jen Slay and Rumina Morris have completed diversity, equity and inclusion work in the corporate, not-for-profit and human services sectors for over two decades. After attending many generic diversity training events, they recognized the need for an education program solely focusing on anti-racism.
Christina is a long-time member of the London Black community, volunteering with several organizations over the years. A founding member of the London Black History Coordinating Committee, she currently serves on the Congress of Black Women London Chapter and the Project to Restore the Fugitive Slave Chapel with Fanshawe Pioneer Village. Christina strives to promote global consciousness and unity through workshops offered by Creating Change and focuses on creating inclusive communities.
Jen has been a Registered Social Worker in London for over 20 years, currently running a private practice to provide psychotherapeutic services and coaching to individuals struggling with depression, anxiety and immobility. As a dynamic motivational speaker, certified life coach, therapist, author and educator, her latest endeavours include All Women L.E.A.D. and Melanated View. Jen lives by the motto, “to whom much is given, much is required,” and is prepared to share and grow with others.
Rumina is an expert in anti-racism, anti-oppression, diversity, equity and inclusion, providing consulting and coaching services to leaders and organizations. She has spent nearly 20 years in leadership positions managing diverse teams in the human services sector, currently serving as the City of London’s Director of Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression. Rumina is a strong advocate for social justice and human rights, using her privilege as a leader to draw attention to systemic inequities and demand change.
